| Is there interest to release the ACTUAL music beds, the so-called "karaoke tracks" from our releases? Is this something you'd be interested in? Please vote in our poll... |

ABSOLUTELY !
I have been performing Franks works in particular through karaoke versions of his songs for a few years now, but with a few exceptions, they always lack the great quality of the original compositions and arrangements. The quality varies from pretty good to something resembling a midi file!
I would think any singer who appreciates your work would be very grateful to have these tracks.

I'm new to this board, it took me long enough to get here but I'm so happy to see the GlobalVision site up and running. I am a singer, and I am always looking for good karaoke versions. Mostly they are pretty good, BUT, there are some versions of songs that are excruciatingly SLOW. I would LOVE to hear a Dracula from broadway karaoke CD, since it's my favorite score to date of any show. I've been a fan of Frank's since 1998 when I first saw J and H and I haven't stopped listening to his music since that day in February. I have several karaoke versions of songs that Linda's sung on her CD's and it seems the orchestrations usually work nicely. Two favorites: Havana - sounds exactly like the actual song as well as Anything Can Happen. It's great to sing to. So that's my vote. Take care

I utilize the tracks already out there. The one containing the concept album selections, (Thank God, because of how much Till You Came Into My Life means to me) and the one in the style of the cast recording including Confrontation and Dangerous Game. I am asked to sing This Is The Moment more than anything. I love both releases equally, although would love to have one that includes ALIVE and/or Transformation.
Of my vote for I would if the tracks were exactly what's on the record is for another reason as well.
Of the community type theater productions of Jekyll I have seen few but of all of them the music has been terrible. IMO the music is as important as the storyline/acting. Everyone of the 4 times I saw Rob Evan at Mohegan Sun for the Jekyll Concert Series I started crying during Take Me As I Am before the first word was sung. What am I talking about? If when a company purchased the rights to the script available if they could also pay (a handsome amount) for music tracks as well. It would one alleviate directors from having to TRY and secure even decent musicians for the productions, and let them focus on the show. Although there are no retakes with pre-recorded tracks. It would also allow the performers to utilize whatever version of the song in learning the material by having the Concept, Complete, or Cast CD as a vocal guide. Although as a con it would take away from artist interpretation of each song. Taking it at different paces etc. And also take away jobs of Music Director and musicians for the show. But any production of Jekyll, professional or otherwise in My opinion deserves excellence. That's why I think recordings should be made of the entire show sans vocals. With the added bonus of being able to release selections not already available for karaoke in CD +G format.
Oh by the way Hi, new to the board!

Yes!
I would pay any price you asked for something like this! It would certianly be wonderful if we had karaoke authorized by you guys; that would be absoloute perfection. I don't really have a preferance as to whether it's exactly what's on the record; it doesn't matter to me. _________________ "I am not allowed to love,

I think you could release an alternate edition of each CD: i.e. the normal CD then another CD which contains the vocal tracks then instrumentals as bonuses. Trust me guys you could make a lot of money out of this _________________

1.) Scarlet Pimpernel: Encore
2.) Dracula
3.) Jekyll & Hyde Concept Recording (Alley Cast)
4.) Jekyll & Hyde Boradway Recording

Uh....YES!!!!!
Part of the joy many people have in music is singing to it! Although I love singing along with the fabulous singers out there, I also love to do it with the music only!!
The midi world is already doing this (although the quality is usually only fair to poor...). This would be a moneymaker but I would suggest you consider doing it via the GlobalVision website. Offer the music in downloadable MP3 format (or similar). This would eliminate production costs. You could advertise the availability elsewhere which would increase the visits to the site....which is ALWAYS a good thing!!
Go for it!!!
Thanks.
Tom
